Yesterday Jacob and I went to the Albuquerque Rose Garden, which surrounds the Tony Hillarman Library on the East side of town. The recent beaming heat (it was 102 degrees while we were there) and pouring monsoons have clearly affected the roses, many of which were in between blooms or were wilting, but it was still nice to walk around the building and check out the roses that were on display and note their varieties for our own imaginary future rose garden.
Pictured above from top to bottom are some of my favorites: the Rainbow Sorbet, Walking on Sunshine, Bronze Star, Love Song (which is more lavender in person - so lovely), and Oranges 'n' Lemons rose varieties. We were both especially drawn to all the orange roses - such a cheerful color! I definitely want to go back and view this garden again in cooler weather.
Hope you had a beautiful weekend!
